Start ApplicationRenting in the GTA: common questions
Straight answers to the questions renters ask us most.
How do I rent an apartment in Toronto with our service?▾
Complete one detailed online qualification form — including budget, move-in date, neighbourhood preferences, and a soft credit profile. A licensed GTA agent reviews it, shortlists landlord-ready options that match, and coordinates tours and the lease.
What credit score do I need to rent in the GTA in 2026?▾
Most Toronto landlords look for a credit score of 680 or higher, though 700+ is increasingly standard for competitive buildings. Lower scores can still be approved with a strong income, co-signer, or larger first/last deposit.
Is there a fee for renters to use GTA Premium Rentals?▾
No. Our licensed agents are paid by the landlord on a successful lease. There is no cost to renters to complete the qualification form or work with an agent.
How long does it take to get approved for a rental in Toronto?▾
When your credit, income, and references are submitted up front in one package, approvals typically come back within 24–72 hours. Submitting documents piecemeal is the #1 reason good tenants lose units.
Can you help if I'm moving to Toronto from another city or country?▾
Yes — relocators are a core part of who we serve. We coordinate virtual tours, walk you through Ontario lease standards, and accept international or recent-arrival credit profiles with proof of income or savings.
